The purpose of the position is to facilitate athlete care duties following the guidelines established by practice act, licensing board, and under the direction of and referral by physician in respective state.
To provide quality athlete care according to practice standards of National Athletic Trainer Association appropriate to age and disability related to limitations in function.
To document and perform charge related functions.
To be responsible for acting as a representative of profession, PT Solutions, and own person in a positive outlook.

Functions
Provide Athletic Training services support as staff in partnership with Area Managers and affiliates.
Follow and support ATC Standards, expectations and Policy and Procedures, ensuring consistency among sites.
Coordinate personal schedule in conjunction with Area Supervisors and Area Managers.
Appropriately assesses and examines athletes with varying diagnoses according to the Athletic Training scope of practice.
Administers immediate first aid and care based on nature of injury, including follow-up with physician as appropriate.
The ATC communicates with the athlete, physician, coach, and family regularly.· Answers to pages or calls promptly.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and organize time by completing work within assigned events/program/tasks.
Accepts additional supervisory/management responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Schedules physical therapy and other treatment and/or other intervention as necessary and established and prescribed.
Promptly begins work assignments after receiving instructions in accordance with established policy, procedures and protocols.· Maintains awareness of current policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of athlete injury information.· Attends department staff meetings as scheduled.
Abides by and helps develop policy and procedures specific to both the athletic training room and the sports medicine/athletic health care program.

Knowledge of absorption, dissipation, and transmission of energy of varying materials. (i.e., protective padding)
Knowledge of legal requirements and rules of the athletic event.Implementation of pre-season, in-season and post-season strength and conditioning programs.

Uses assigned athletic training equipment safely and proficiently.
Develops treatment programs in accordance with findings of evaluations and goals established by the injury assessment overseen by the treating physician.
Assesses athlete’s status in response to treatment and modifies programs as appropriate.
Applies treatment procedures and modalities in accordance with established indications and contraindications.
Prepares athlete for treatment and insures comfort and safety of athletes.
Instructs athlete in therapeutic exercise, and strength and conditioning programs.
Informs athlete and families of important aspects of athlete’s present condition, including concussion, wound care, first aid and follow-up care.
Informs physician and program manager of any necessary documentation or observable signs that need investigation.
Meets criteria for certification as established in the National Athletic Trainers Association
Maintains educational readiness needs through CEU’s.
Maintains statistics and injury logs as established.
Able to perform duties in an efficient and independent manner with minimal supervision.
Can master new work routines and use new equipment without the need for repetitive instruction.

Required Credentials
Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Physical Education or related field.
