Greets walk-in visitors and responds to walk-in requests for information from prospective graduate students (prospects), currently enrolled graduate students, faculty, staff,and members of the general public. Greets and announces visitors to the Vice Provost and Dean, Associate Deans, Assistant Dean and other staff members of the College of Graduate Studies. Provides immediate answers to questions and inquiries from walk-ins who are seeking information about graduate programs, policies, and procedures. This requires excellent customer service skills and broad knowledge about the processes, people, and systems involved in graduate education at UCF . Must be familiar with graduate processes related to admissions, registration, financial support, thesis/dissertation, and student services and records.
Answers telephone calls received on the primary Graduate Studies access line. Answers questions, provides requested information verbally (or by mail as indicated below), takes and forwards messages, and/or forwards calls to appropriate Graduate Studies staff persons.
Uses PeopleSoft to track walk-in traffic and Observer/Composer software to track phone calls for weekly, monthly and annual reports.
Assists office personnel with other related duties as assigned by supervisor. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to research, gathering and entering data, typing, filing, bulk mail-outs, xerox, requesting transcripts and calculating GPAs, updating holds, assisting in data clean up efforts, and other student record information.
A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
