The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) invites nominations and applications for an endowed senior faculty position in the area of population health, with expertise that integrates two or more of the following and/or other complimentary areas into an innovative population health research and service program:

AU-MCG is seeking an exceptional individual with an international reputation and major national presence by virtue of sustained NIH and other federal, foundation and industry funding, positions on editorial boards, NIH study sections and other leadership positions. Demonstrated success in university/industry partnerships, technology transfer and business development would be a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and develop research programs that complement existing initiatives at AU. Although the primary effort will be to conduct research, the successful applicant for this position will also be expected to participate in the typical range of academic activities such as clinical and “connected health” services and/or educational service. Candidates must hold an MD, PhD, DrPH, combination and/or equivalent, and must be eligible for faculty appointment at the associate/full professor level. The primary appointment will be in the Department of Population Health Sciences.
The newly established Department of Population Health Sciences at MCG strives to build a transdisciplinary research infrastructure, educational programs, and community partnerships to improve the health of all populations. It is the home of the Georgia Prevention Institute, which has over a thirty-year history of active research programs in areas including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, fitness, kidney diseases, lung diseases, minority health, nutrition, stress, and substance abuse.
MCG, Georgia’s only public medical school, has a long tradition of excellence in education and clinical care and is the founding school of AU, one of four research-intensive universities in the University System of Georgia. AU is comprised of the following colleges: College of Allied Health Sciences; Dental College of Georgia; The Graduate School; College of Nursing; Hull College of Business; College of Education; College of Science and Mathematics; Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; School of Computer and Cyber Sciences; and MCG.
