Lead, manage, supervise, plan and deliver quality program functions for the Community Education Xplore before and after school instructional and recreational program. Lead site-based personnel; monitor and implement assigned program components.


Bachelor’s degree in job related field preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience in child development

Valid Arizona driver’s license with proof of insurance and ability and willingness to drive own vehicle to various locations

Minimum one year supervisory experience

Experience developing age appropriate developmental activities for child care programs

Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, Email, etc)

Ability to assume responsibility; to independently make sound fact-based decisions for daily tasks; to maintain confidentiality

Ability to supervise and provide direction to assigned personnel for the purpose of training and monitoring staff performance

Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision

Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with significant diversity of individuals

Ability to train and provide professional development in best practices

Essential Duties

Participate in planning and program implementation for the Xplore program at district sites

Coordinate the hiring process of assigned personnel to ensure district, state and federal employment rules and regulations are met

Develop and provide training and conduct performance evaluations for assigned personnel

Schedule assigned personnel to ensure sufficient staffing

Monitor assigned personnel to ensure adherence to department and district policy and procedures

Develop and maintain cooperative professional relationships with school staff

Assist in the development and implementation of program curriculum for various age groups according to developmental needs

Implement new activities to support the onsite Xplore program

Monitor assigned program components to ensure proper operation and compliance with school and district expectations

Monitor assigned budget to ensure appropriate use of funds; perform budgetary accountability tasks; request supplies and materials to ensure adequate supply and availability

Perform recordkeeping tasks to ensure accurate retrieval of data for reporting purposes; generate required reports in support of assigned Community Education programs

Create and update communication materials to provide information for dissemination to appropriate parties

Communicate effectively and in a cooperative and professional manner with students, parents and district personnel at all levels
