Supervision Responsibilities: Provides direct supervision and take leadership responsibilities for team members during program or service activities and provides secondary on-call services based on the psychosocial rehabilitation model of treatment and services

Summary: Under the general supervision of team leader assist in providing leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplinary team providing services to program members. Serves as the primary support for case managers working with adults with mental illness. Provides license-dependent mental and/or physical health services to members as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : This is not an exhaustive task list, and other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate or necessary by the supervisor or program director. Qualifications

Assist team leader to recruit, hire, supervise, train, direct, evaluate, reward, discipline and terminate assigned staff in accordance with organizational policy and applicable laws and regulations.

Assist in the supervision of interns

Responsible for field supervision of assigned staff to ensure quality of service in community settings

Assume leadership or delegates leadership of the day-to-day operations of the team as needed. Provide timely information and feedback to team leader or site director with regard to emergent staff, team or member issues

Co-sign on members service plans developed by other staff, provide psychiatric evaluation and assessments for program participants

Assist in overseeing and managing team budget and expenditures, making adequate and timely adjustments as needed

Assist and support program documentation standards of staff in accordance with MHALA, Department of Health Services (DHS), LACDMH County Contracted Provider, and funding source standards and requirements, and documents in Electronic Record (ER), including 24 hour turnaround documentation

Assist in the coordination of enrollments, disenrollments and transfers of program members

Participate and oversee participation in community development opportunities. Advocates for social justice and systems change at a macro level when opportunities are available

Participate as a manager in team, staff and community meetings. Participate as an active member of the site management team, quality improvement, safety committee or other leadership teams as needed or assigned. Participate actively in site training efforts

Oversee psychotherapeutic and/or medical treatment programs of members, and perform other similar professional services and activities as needed within the scope of practice of the license or degree

Oversee a Coordination Plan and/or Personal Service Plan with each member that identifies his/her personal needs and goals

Oversee and advocate on behalf of the member to help him/her obtain and keep housing, health care benefits, entitlements, etc.

Advocate on behalf of the families of the members and provides them with information in regards to the general functioning of the program, limits of confidentiality, etc

Oversee and coordinate intake assessments and enrollment of potential members to the program

Oversee members in their place of residence on an as-needed basis in order to help them live successfully, and to prevent them from becoming homeless

Oversee transportation for members to appointments and on errands when appropriate

Oversee and monitors members’ individual and group activities both inside the program and out in the community. Devise and implement strategies for outreach to members who tend to isolate themselves

Provide individual and group coaching, counseling mentoring instruction, training, feedback and positive reinforcement for members in areas such as money management, grooming and hygiene, meal preparation, public transportation, and other independent living skills

Oversee and monitors the collection of service coordination outcome data

Assist and support program documentation standards of staff in accordance with MHALA, County Contracted Provider, and funding source standards and requirements, and documents in required program, including 24 hour turnaround documentation

Read, perform researches, attend classes, workshops or seminars and participate in other professional development activities in order to maintain and enhance personal and professional skills

Education and Experience Matrix-- one of the following combinations is required:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED plus CPRP / Minimum 5 year experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative related services to a disabled population plus experience in a supervisory/leadership role

Bachelor’s degree in a human service or related field or Bachelor degree plus license and or certification in a mental health specialty i.e. RN, LVN,LPT, drug alcohol rehab counselor) / Minimum 3 year experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to a disabled population plus experience in a supervisory/leadership role

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling Psychology (MA/MS) / California license waivered or waive-eligible plus a minimum 2 year experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation related services to a disabled related services to a disabled population plus experience in a supervisory/leadership role

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling Psychology (MA/MS) / No Psychosocial rehabilitation experience required Must possess a current, valid California LCSW or MFT

Other position requirements:
A minimum two years’ experience in a leadership role is preferred

Participate in program designed for Associate Clinical Social Workers / Marriage and Family Therapist Intern staff to attain supervised hours and be willing to pursue Licensed Clinical Social Work /Marriage and Family Therapist status.

Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and leadership to diverse staff who possess a wide range skills, abilities and professional competencies

Demonstrated knowledge of community resources

Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Flexible work schedule to include some evenings or weekends, and on call cell phone services when necessary

Driving with current class C driver’s license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, the ability to be ensured by MHA liability insurance are conditions of employment
