Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides secretarial, clerical services, and clerical support to the rehabilitation department. Prepares correspondence, types a variety of office records and reports, receives and directs patients and visitors, maintains and updates departmental records, and offers clinical support to the rehabilitation department. Additional responsibilities include payroll, the processing of patient charges, and preparation and/or maintenance of documents and records of a technical nature (performance of EKGs and blood pressures, patient rounds, and patient observation). Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
