The Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington ( ) invites applicants for a full-time Research Assistant Professor (Job Class Code #0143) in glaciology. Preferred research areas include, but are not limited to, dynamic behavior of ice sheets, ice-flow effects on ice-core interpretations, geophysical measurements and inverse problems on ice sheets and in boreholes, and dynamics of ice masses elsewhere in the solar system. We are particularly interested in individuals who combine observational geophysical programs with ice-core results and with ice-sheet models that incorporate physical processes to link the cryosphere to climate. However, we encourage candidates who investigate any aspect of the cryosphere to apply.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Geophysics, Geology or a related field at the time of appointment. While the successful candidate will primarily be engaged in research, all University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
