Develop and maintain features for mission critical back-end services that handle high volume of traffic
Participate in researching, designing and prototyping solutions to complex business problems
Under the direction of the Development Lead, work to deliver high quality, extensible and maintainable software
Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure integrity of end-to-end functionality
REQUIRED ABILITIES, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND XP
Solid understanding of web development and client-server technologies
Excellent problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Be self-motivated and results oriented
Desire and ability to learn quickly and be part of a world-class team
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
1 year of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer or a related occupation
1 year of experience working with object oriented programming language (Java or C#) and dependency management
1 year of experience in programming with Python or PHP scripting language
1 year of experience building highly scalable, highly available, distributed systems with service oriented architecture (RESTful, RPC)
1 year of experience in data persistence technologies, both relational (SQL) and non-relational (Memcached, Redis, MongoDB)
1 year of experience using source control management tools (SVN or Git)
Experience working in Service Oriented Architecture environments
Familiarity with concurrency and distributed computing
Understanding of different data encoding and compression techniques
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes
