Responsibilities

As
a Motor Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Provides
safe and efficient transportation for students to and from school

·
Operates
a passenger bus with an approximate gross vehicle weight up to 30,000 pounds
and with passenger capacity ranging from 44 to 72 students

·
Conduct
maintenance and safety checks on the school bus prior to beginning all routes
and report problems to the designated government representative

·
Responsible
for the general cleaning of bus to include cleaning inside of bus daily and
washing exterior of the bus once a month

·
Assists
in the loading and unloading of children with special needs and their
equipment, as well as assisting these students in getting to and from their
classrooms

·
Works
with students in order to establish and maintain safety on the bus at all times

·
Reports
all disciplinary action to the school principal

·
Records
bus route and schedule, including time information, on the trip ticket; fills
out accident reports, when necessary

This is a seasonal position.

Incumbent drives in all types of traffic and weather and is exposed to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving.

Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, a state Bus Certification, and be able to obtain a Government operators permit. Must have a safe driving record.

Position is subject to provisions of the Drug Free Workplace Program IAW AR 600-85 and DoD Directive 2010.9, and must pass a physical examination, at the applicants expense, prior to receiving a firm job offer.

Qualifications
