This position is assigned to the Same Day Surgical Unit under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager of Same Day Surgery at the Manchester VA Medical Center.

The RN will be responsible for providing nursing care to the veteran within the Operating Room:

Ability to perform circulating and scrubbing duties on multiple specialty procedures

Initiates, performs, and completes assigned duties in providing care to veterans patient populations

Demonstration of high level of personal and professional accountability and the ability to be self-directed

Excellent assessment skills, and effective organizational skills

Effectively applies all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting

Ability to problem solve, apply critical thinking skills, and resolve conflict

Manages computerized documentation, medication administration, and leadership responsibilities

Excellent interpersonal skills in previous and current position

Excellent computer skills

Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate patient care with the interdisciplinary team

Able to work independently and within a team structure

ACLS and BLS certified

  • Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, no experience.
