Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Trade Events and Program Manager. The Trade Events and Program Manager is an experienced marketing manager and project leader with a passion for executive events and product and customer-centric channel programs. Responsible for bringing strategic vision and oversight of ~30 diverse major events/year, both Shore side and Shipboard. The Manager’s role within Carnival is to increase Travel Agent knowledge, satisfaction, visibility and engagement with Carnival Cruise Line. The Manager is also a key people leader, responsible for guiding a team within our group. Oversee the following programs (list and mix subject to change) from a strategic development and planning perspective: Travel Partner Conferences & Trade shows, Industry Trade show & Media events: CLIA Cruise3Sixty, CruiseWorld etc.; Partner recognition events (Carnival Excellence Awards); Product Inaugural Events; Executive Partner Advisory Board: Strategic account forum group; Travel Agent Familiarization trips; Ship Visits & Training Events; Seminars @ Sea; National Sales Meetings/Sales Leadership Team Meetings. Manage on-time delivery of team events and ensure team members deliver flawless execution. Provide leadership expertise in Project Management to team members to ensure best-in-class PMO tools are used by team members. Provide strategic and analytical support to team in developing event strategy, agenda, content, etc. based on current business and product strategy. Guide team to successful outcomes in program execution. Oversee vendor selection and contract negotiation across projects. Develop regular Senior-level content for events including presentations, video recommendations, talking points for executives, event flow recommendations etc. Responsible for overall team budget management, monthly forecast. Provide support to team members as needed for individual event budgets. Review and provide guidance on budget spreadsheets to ensure reporting is easy to use. Act as key Trade Events and Program team liaison with Sales and Carnival Leadership team. Present regularly to Sales and Carnival leadership team members. Liaison with public relations team to prepare panelist for high profile speaking engagements. Work with ad agencies and PR agencies/consultants to supervise content creation as needed and supervise finalization with team members. Define Trade Events and Program team strategy, goals and metrics. Set pace and targets for members of the team and guide progress of all team members to ensure success of the group. Other job responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Advertising. Significant experience in managing complex events in a corporate setting is required. Experience with one or more professional Project Management tools. Experience developing clear and executable project plans for complex programs. Experience developing and managing event/program budgets. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Comfortable working with various communication styles and adapting own to be understood and effective as necessary. Experience working with senior executives. Comfortable working with ambiguity; able to define a path when one is unclear. Ability to manage multiple concurrent and demanding projects. Experience managing a small staff. Comfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Ability to make sound decisions, at moments with conflicting time demands. Highly detail oriented. Passion for success with a willingness to learn. Microsoft office intermediate to advanced level (Excel & Word) and Outstanding PowerPoint. Flexible to support events that occur across North America (potentially International) with 20%+ level of travel and flexible work schedules, particularly during peak event seasons.
