The School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Accounting. This is a full-time, 9-month basis, tenure-track position, with an anticipated start date of August 22, 2018. Qualified individuals considering a change from business careers will be fully considered for the position.


Master’s degree with a minimum of 15 credits in accounting;
CPA certificate;
3 years’ public accounting or related industry experience;
Willingness to teach in both traditional classroom and online environments;
Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills;
Excellent computer skills;
Record of outstanding performance;
Demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and/or other issues of historic marginalization.

A doctorate (Ph.D. or a DBA) in accounting (ABD is acceptable for application);
Online teaching experience using alternative delivery methods;
Experience using educational software;
2 years’ college/university level teaching experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to meet traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work and service to the university and community. The position entails a teaching load of four classes per semester that may include classes in the areas of accounting, income tax, auditing and information systems; the selected individual may teach finance courses, if needed. The teaching load will be a combination of on-campus courses and online courses. Teaching online courses will be an integral part of the position.

The School of Business consists of 22 faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration to approximately 700 on campus students. In addition, undergraduate and graduate Master’s degrees are offered to approximately 1,000 distance students.
