The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator will be responsible for the design and promotion of an injury prevention program that reduces the burden of injury in our community with emphasis on evidence-based programming. The planning/development will be focused on identifying patterns of injury, developing/implementing intervention strategies, establishing hospital based and community contacts, developing/procuring education materials, monitoring/evaluating/ outcomes and providing trauma program support.

The Injury Prevention Coordinator, functioning in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable to providing optimal customer service to internal and external customers. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization. Responsibilities Coordinates all injury prevention programs to serve identified or high-risk populations. Functions as an injury prevention resource that provides the expertise to hospital and community contacts.

Implements intervention strategies in the community setting. Conducts/provides education/intervention to the patient population and community pertaining injury control and prevention based on identified risk factors. Monitors/evaluates the effectiveness of injury prevention program activities through the analysis of measurable data outcomes. Actively participates in the attainment of the trauma program goals Requirements/Qualifications Graduate of a school of nursing or possess a degree in a health related field If graduate of a school of nursing, current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio Minimum of 2 years recent and relevant clinical experience Effective Communication Skills Possesses strong organizational skills Able to be self-directed and function autonomously.
