Under general direction of Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Assistant will assist the PI and Co-PI to conduct a study that will design and implement a pilot study to reduce the burden of congestive heart failure in South Los Angeles.

Required Qualifications
• Assist with facilitating interviews and meetings for project activities and ensuring that the intervention logistics are implemented properly.
• Responsible for assisting in the collection and management of project related data.
• Provide support preparing educational and dissemination materials for clinical providers, health administrators, and lay persons.
• Serving as liaison for key function areas including:
o Project partners from clinics and hospitals
o Health Information Technology and Bio-medical Informatics partners and colleagues
o Serve as a research site liaison, ensuring that the intervention logistics are implemented properly.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION :
• Bachelors degree

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY / SKILLS :
• Conducting literature searches on Medline.
• Reviewing and summarizing research articles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from different backgrounds/organizations.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and also as part of a team and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, clinicians, peers, and the public.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of subject, medical and research records.
• Microsoft Suite experience.
• Prior with Research Electronic Data Capture software in clinical care settings will also be of benefit.

Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE :
• Prior experience supporting public health programs, health information technology projects, and bio-medical informatics in clinical care settings or in health research is preferred.
• Prior experience in NIH research project support experience, public health training, and health information technology and informatics experience is a plus.
