McKesson's MPS division has an opening for a Strategic Account Executive. This position may be based in our Moon Township, PA, Livonia, MI office or may be remote based. This position requires 25-35% overnight travel.
Position Description
The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for maintaining a high and consistent level of quality service, customer support, satisfaction and retention for assigned customers in the Chain and Large Outpatient base. The assigned customers will primarily consist of those deemed as key strategic accounts and larger customers by site count. This role is responsible for understanding and socializing the customers’ strategic direction to internal teams and must provide executive level communications and presence with the customers. This role will own the optimization of the products and services that are utilized post go-live and will work collaboratively with peers and key departments to provide a high level of client support.
The Strategic Account Executive provides a single point of contact to manage overall customer satisfaction associated with all MPS products and services. The Strategic Account Executive will develop and maintain relationships with customers to collaborate with other McKesson business units including US Pharma, MacroHelix, Supplylogix, and HVS on strategic and tactical solutions to secure customer satisfaction, contract extensions and add-on sales.

Responsibilities
Understand the customer’s short and long term strategies, using that information to identify opportunities to optimize the customer’s business, demonstrate additional value in MPS solutions, improve profitability and/or reduce overall cost of operation.

Develop and maintain key customer relationships at the executive and operational level. Lead MPS (and MPTS) customer business reviews, including strategic roadmap, value that MPS/MPTS solutions bring to customer, developing a thorough understanding of customer needs and determining opportunities for MPS to meet those needs in new and unique ways.

Manage assigned accounts following implementation to ensure overall client satisfaction, including contract adherence, financial obligations, and communications. One McKesson liaison for customer with other McKesson Business Units – US Pharma, AccessHealth, Supplylogix, MacroHelix.

Educate others about the customer and advocate on customers’ behalf to make sure their needs are understood and addressed appropriately to provide assistance with needs and future growth strategies.

Establish routine communication with Customers to develop understanding of their business and strategic needs. Also create ongoing communication with Support and Product Managment Teams to drive continuous improvement, by providing customer and market insight to develop strategies which meet customer expectations and ensure collaboration & teamwork across departments.
Serve as a key consultant for internal McKesson teams to represent assigned customers for internal discussions on timelines, functionality, and related projects.

Identify and refer sales opportunities to internal sales teams and other One McKesson business units.

Primary lead for Issue Escalation for assigned customers to drive continued response and accepted solutions through colloborative communication with internal teams and customer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
5+ years Account/Project Management, Customer Relationship Management/Support
Critical Skills
  • Healthcare or Pharmacy industry experience
  • Demonstrated Account or Project Management skills to prioritize the needs of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills at an executive level. Able to communicate issues in a clear and articulate fashion while showing creativity and innovation in presenting ideas. Able to effectively influence stakeholders and facilitate team projects.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiating skills to interface with customers and internal departments.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Previous working experience in the Pharmacy industry recommended but not required
  • Technical aptitude and technical knowledge of MPS-supported systems preferred
  • Willing to take ownership and lead by example.
  • Positive, professional demeanor and presentation in all internal and client interactions.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and evaluate problems and opportunities and recommend and implement potential solutions.
Education
BS degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare Practice Management or Medical Billing. Masters degree preferred
