The Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) is looking for a talented professional to fill a part time Physician position at the Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) . CWC is one of three state operated Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) which provides residential care and active treatment to approximately 200 individuals.

This is a 60% position and will work approximately 24 hours per week.

CWC is located on the north side of Madison and offers a beautiful campus environment. Our employees enjoy several benefits including a retirement plan, paid time off and excellent health insurance. CWC also has a 24/7 fitness center, free parking, and is on the bus route.

Position Summary : The physician practices medicine through the assessment and treatment of individuals with intellectual and behavioral disabilities. This activity involves diagnosis, treatment and disposition of assigned patients, including activities such as preventive medicine, disease assessment, consultation with other medical and professional staff, prescribing medications and treatments and documentation of treatment plans and progress. These clinical functions also include ordering laboratory work, diagnostic tests and nursing measures. This provision of medical care is part of a comprehensive program of 24/7 medical management coverage of individuals who live at CWC. Special Notes : All applicants will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

Qualifications : Minimally qualified candidates will be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates must obtain licensure prior to appointment. Other minimum qualifications include a clear understanding of an interdisciplinary team approach, basic physical examination techniques and general knowledge of medical therapeutics

Well qualified candidates will also have satisfactory completion on an accredited residency program and have board certification or board certification eligibility status. Well qualified candidates will also have experience in intellectual and behavioral disability medicine.
