Our Information Services Department is actively searching for a Project Manager to join our team!

This position may be filled at the Associate Project Manager, Mid-level OR Senior Project Manager level.

As part of the UPHS Information Services Division, Project Management Office, this position will oversee projects coordinating Applications teams, outsourced IT functions, external consultants, vendors, and UPHS departments and divisions. Responsible for participating in project life-cycle activities for system selection, project justification (ROI), and budgeting processes. Responsible for managing project life cycle activities for staffing, delivery, closure, and transition to operations. Ongoing project responsibilities include managing the project budget, development and management to the project plan, coordination with hospital department and staff, risk assessment and mitigation, and problem resolutions. Ensure the completion of projects within budgets and project plans and the integration of these new systems with existing clinical, administrative and financial systems. Coordinate with IS and departmental management in the annual planning process. Participate in the management of the day-to-day delivery of IS services through appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:
Associate Project Manager
Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required:
• Bachelors degree required; preferably in Sciences, Math, or Healthcare Administration.
• Current Internal Penn Medicine Information Services division employees may be considered with proof of active and continued enrollment in an approved bachelor degree program.
• At least two years of project management experience required.

Skill Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management disciplines in an Information Systems environment required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations and systems desired.
• Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure, applications development, database management, and operating systems is desirable.
• Experience coordinating the activities and deliverables of three to five staff on a project team from various areas of an organization.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of Project Management tools and methodologies (Project Plans, work breakdown structures, testing artifacts, go-live planning, etc.).
• Able to deliver clear and concise product presentations and to write clearly and effectively.
• Strong business analyst skills, specifically with business and functional requirements development.

Project Manager
Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years related experience OR Masters degree and three years of related experience required.

Required Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of Project Management disciplines in a complex Information Systems environment required.
• Demonstrated experience in evaluating, managing the development of, and implementing custom and packaged software projects.
• Ability and experience coordinating the activities and deliverables of two to ten staff on a project team from various areas of the organization.

Preferred Skills:
• Project Management Professional designation preferred
• Working knowledge of applications development, database management and operating systems is desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations and systems desired
• Ability to work successfully in a matrix managed environment

Other Skills:
• Able to deliver clear and concise product presentations and to write clearly and effectively
• Strong business analyst skills, specifically with business and functional requirements development

Senior Project Manager:
Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience with demonstrated increase in responsibility and project complexity required.

Required Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of Program / Project Management disciplines in a complex Information Systems environment required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations and systems desired.
• Demonstrated experience in evaluating, managing the development of, and implementing custom and packaged software projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing programs consisting of multiple projects and project teams.
• Demonstrated experience working with business and clinical management at the highest levels of an organization.
• Working knowledge of application development, database management, and operating systems is desirable.
• Ability and experience coordinating the activities and deliverables of two to ten staff on a project team from various areas of an organization.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of Project Management tools and methodologies (Project Plans, work breakdown structures, testing artifacts, go-live planning, etc.).
• Able to deliver clear and concise product presentations; able to write clearly and effectively.
• Strong business analyst skills, specifically with business and functional requirements development.

Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required:
• Project Management Professional designation preferred.
