Organizational Summary:

Information Technology supports the USF Strategic Plan in developing and maintaining technologies and support structures that aid student access and success, expand world class interdisciplinary research and creativity, while enhancing our revenue sources. The principle divisions within IT will provide computing resources and services to the entire USF community in direct support of research and instruction and employees, approximately 350 people.

Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Student Information Systems will be responsible for the overall strategy, implementation, and support of ERP Student systems across the USF System, including the revamp of major ERP systems such as the Student Information System and the Degree Auditing System. Understands the strategic goals, objectives and needs of the institution and collaborates with functional and technical experts to architect the solutions. Builds the roadmap, including costs, resources, timeline of deliverables, and effectively oversees the implementation of projects/programs to ensure the solution meets the needs and expectation of the clients. Guides a seamless transition of solutions delivered into operational mode.


Leads and directs large, complex programs and projects, overseeing all activities, and ensuring successful delivery of the technology solution, on time and meeting client expectations. Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure IT programs and projects are aligned with strategic goals of the institution.

Provides leadership and direction to cross functional Agile teams to ensure the successful completion of programs and projects. Directly supervises and/or mentors technical leads and other team members.

Understands client's strategic goals and needs and collaborates with functional and technical experts to develop solution architectures that align with requirements. Builds strategic roadmaps to implement deliverables that meet client expectations.

Participates in the development and execution of the technology strategy and related road maps, ensuring alignment of solution architecture with the institutions strategic goals.

Provides guidance on improving institution efficiency and effectiveness by suggesting process improvements, utilizing tools, and reviewing metrics.

Stays abreast of latest trends in technology and uses this knowledge to bring the most effective solutions to the USF System.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qulifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, and five years of IT related work experience,
OR a Bachelor’s degree with no specific required field and six years of IT related work experience,
OR a Master's degree and four years of IT related work experience,
OR a combination of nine years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.

At least four years of IT related work experience must be at the exempt professional level and two years of experience must involve management and supervision of IT staff.
