Administrative accountability for leading, managing, developing, supervising and evaluating all aspects of administrative and operational services within Surgical Services. Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the administrative management for various surgical areas including but not limited to Operating Room, Pre-Admission Testing, PACU, Pre-op, Scheduling Services, Sterile Processing, Perfusion Services and OR Billing. Assures professional, clinical, and educational excellence in the provision of quality care to the patients/families and assistance to the physicians. Provides oversight for the development of safety practices, and regulatory compliance. Facilitates empowerment of staff in the development of creative and innovative patient care models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care service. Assumes responsibility, in conjunction with and in collaborative relationships with both medical and non-medical leadership and assumes responsibility for fiscal management of the service line. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Management or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or other related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of progressively more responsible nursing experience, preferably within perioperative nursing, with at least 2 years in a Supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated success in creating innovative models of surgical patient care.
